The Buffalo Bills have been struggling to sell tickets this season, and now they’ve lost 762 season ticket holders.

The Buffalo Bills have lost 762 season ticket holders in the past few weeks. This is due to the price of tickets being increased by 10%.

It wasn’t because of their dreadful Week 1 performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Buffalo Bills have just lost over 700 season ticket holders after being humiliated at home in their season opener. This happened when the team and the local government updated its COVID-19 immunization policy. If those Bills fans did not agree of the new requirement, the club allegedly offered them a full refund — with a catch.

The sole requirement for spectators inside the concourse when the Bills played the Steelers at Highmark Stadium in Week 1 was that they wear masks. Fans were not required to wear masks while in their seats, according to the Democrat & Chronicle. When it became apparent that supporters were not obeying the regulations, the rules were immediately modified.

It’s no longer simply about donning masks.

With COVID-19 instances on the rise and fans who don’t follow the rules, club and municipal authorities are requiring spectators to provide evidence of immunization. Fans must provide evidence of having had at least one immunization shot beginning with Sunday’s game versus the Washington Football Team. The same can be said about the game against the Houston Texans in Week 4.

All Bills fans must be completely immunized by Oct. 31 in order to attend home games. The Bills are one of four NFL clubs that require vaccinations. The Seattle Seahawks, New Orleans Saints, and Las Vegas Raiders are the others.

More than 700 Buffalo Bills season ticket holders have returned their tickets.

When the Bills implemented the new policy, they gave season ticket holders a limited time to obtain a full refund. That, on the other hand, came with some fine print.

Fans who took advantage of the refund offer and relinquished their season tickets lost their seniority. If they decide to return to the team as a season ticket holder, they will be compelled to stand at the back of the line, where less attractive seats may be available. Season tickets in Buffalo are in high demand, since the team sold out last season.

762 Bills supporters took advantage of the reimbursement and returned their tickets to the team, according to WGR-550, the club’s radio partner.

Those seats will now be offered to season-ticket holders on the waiting list. If they aren’t claimed, single-game sales will be made accessible.

A similar scenario arose for Raiders supporters in Las Vegas.

The Raiders had a similar policy in place, but it wasn’t as severe as the Bills’.

The Raiders, according to Ticket News, likewise have a vaccination-only policy. This season, they, like the Bills, gave season ticket holders the option to opt out. According to Ticket News, over 700 Raiders season-ticket holders dropped out this year, accounting for nearly 1,800 tickets.

The Raiders offered supporters the option of receiving a full refund or deferring their purchase for next year’s tickets. They were not compelled to give up their seats if they opted to put their money toward their 2022 season tickets, like Bills fans were.
